There were numerous debate recorded between the Jewish Christian and the Jews in the New Testament. However, two noticeable debate standout from the newly developed Christian establishment, one was severe enough to cause Jerusalem team to debate the issue and make decision over formal council in Acts 15, the other was informal debate (debatable) when Paul rebuke Peter in front of others in Antioch (Gal. 2:11-14).

Although Jerusalem council results in reaching consensus for Gentile believers, Jewish Christian still practice Judaism as if Christianity were mere addition to the old Judaism, therefore act differently if one were Jewish Christian and if one were non-Jewish Christian (Acts 21:21-26), or act differently when the two group met together in the same location? Williams (2009) believe consensus was reachable simply because both side sees common ground and outweighs holding on to their own cultural beliefs and practices, and this “something bigger” was more important.
Today many of us were born into a Christian family as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th of even 5th generation, after enlightenment from the spirit which leads us to break tradition and found biblical truth, were we the same upon enforcing others to act upon the ways we were taught as unshakable tradition of the belief, were we not under the same dilemma?
In today’s fast-changing world, how do we implement biblical truth over local culturally-shaped & distorted belief and practices, renew our spirit but not confine it in a fixed mindset? I urge you to join me and others in the first bible forum to be held in Paris this coming autumn (13-16 November 2018), bring your thoughts and insight, to share with others in a debatable setting.
